A few words about...

We asked Lukas a few questions

Could you briefly introduce Moravio?

Moravio was founded in 2011 in the Czech Republic. We began as a white-label software provider for prominent agencies in Prague, working with well-known brands like Mastercard, Allianz, and Škoda. But that was just the start. In 2019, we expanded globally, transforming into an international company with clients across the world. Today, we have a team of ~60 people, and we’ve grown to tackle highly complex projects. For instance, we now have 25 people working on a single project, which presents an intricate challenge in terms of coordination and orchestration. We are agile and dynamic, but capable of handling large-scale, intricate operations. Our growth has positioned us as a serious player in the global software development market.

Can you share the story behind the founding of Moravio?

From the beginning, my vision for Moravio was to work on challenging, innovative projects with the most talented people in the industry, and to do so on a global scale. I wanted to break free from traditional boundaries and deliver projects that are both meaningful and technically fascinating. We’ve achieved that goal, and the journey has been incredible. We’ve worked on groundbreaking AI technology back in 2019, Zoom-like platforms for fitness experiences, dispatch systems for coal trains and trucks, seat management for theaters on Broadway, data collection systems from glucometers, and even face recognition for film production companies. Each project we take on challenges us to push the boundaries of what’s possible, which is exactly what I envisioned when founding Moravio.

How do your services add value to your clients and the market?

We offer full-service, custom software development, providing more than just coding solutions—we deliver business outcomes. Clients come to us with problems, and we come back with well-thought-out, innovative solutions. Our core strength is acting as an extended department for our clients, deeply integrating with their teams and businesses. Whether it’s scaling up services or delivering fractional resources like a software architect for two months a year, our model is built for flexibility and efficiency. We focus on minimizing costs, adhering to budgets, and finding solutions that truly move the needle for our clients.

What makes Moravio stand out from its competitors?

Our biggest competitor isn’t other development firms—it’s internal employees. In 80% of cases, we strongly believe that outsourcing to us is more cost-effective than hiring internally. While it’s crucial to have senior IT people in-house to protect your core business and intellectual property, for everything else, outsourcing is a smarter, more flexible option. You only use the people you need, exactly when you need them. If your demand decreases, you can downscale quickly, and if you need extra resources for a short period, we can scale up seamlessly. Additionally, outsourced teams like ours come with an added performance edge—clients tend to be much stricter with vendors than with internal employees, which drives accountability. Ultimately, we focus on delivering tangible business outcomes, which is why companies choose to invest in us over expanding their internal teams.

Are there any success stories you’re particularly proud of?

One of our biggest milestones was in 2019, when we landed a client in the USA—a Fortune 190 company with over 100,000 employees -  JLL. We worked with ex-Google and ex-Tesla product managers to build a groundbreaking AI tool, comparable to what ChatGPT has become today. Additionally, we’ve developed a Zoom-like fitness platform, created dispatch systems for coal transportation, and even worked on a Broadway seat management system. Each of these projects showcases our ability to deliver innovative solutions across a variety of industries and use cases. (Read more about the AI project here).

How would you describe your ideal customer and the industries you focus on?

Our ideal customers are mid-sized and enterprise businesses. For mid-sized companies, we offer a wealth of experience and insights from a wide range of projects, giving them access to the same level of expertise that larger enterprises enjoy. For enterprise clients, we provide not only that same expertise but also the agility that larger internal teams often lack. We seamlessly integrate as a department within their business, driving continuous progress through constant deliveries and innovations.

Is there any exciting news or recent updates you’d like to share about Moravio?

We’re excited to announce our expansion into the Nordics market, following our success in the US and UK markets since 2019. We offer proximity in both time zone and culture, and we regularly visit our clients to ensure strong relationships. Our team not only delivers outstanding technical solutions but also connects clients with one another when it adds value. The Nordics represents a great opportunity for us to bring our agile and customer-centric approach to a new region, and we’re ready to build lasting partnerships here.
